Dr. Irfan Siddiqui is an interventional cardiologist based in Central Florida with more than 25 years in medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and he has been named a Top Doctor for multiple years.

Born and raised in Miami, the son of immigrant parents, he wrote The Dark Side of Medicine for the people who are about to walk the path he walked — students, interns, residents, nurses and newly qualified physicians — and for anyone who has looked at a hospital bill and wondered how the system really works.

Training

Dr. Siddiqui earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. He trained at Michigan State University in internal medicine and cardiology, serving as Chief Resident and Chief Cardiology Fellow, and completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Utah, where he took part in national clinical trials and registries.

Research and clinical work

Over his career he has taken part in multiple research trials, registries and publications, including peer-reviewed work on patent foramen ovale closure published in the Journal of Interventional Cardiology and CHEST. His procedural technique for atrial septal defect closure in the cardiac catheterization lab — an approach that minimizes radiation exposure — is used nationally. He also teaches as an associate professor for local medical schools, nursing schools and colleges.

The business of medicine

Early in practice, Dr. Siddiqui saw how little doctors are taught about the economics of the system they work in — the story behind Chapter 1 of the book. He went on to build physician-led alternatives: he founded the Private Insurance Operating Cardiac Model and the Time Share Cardiac Suite Concept, both used nationally, and the Doctor Lease Back program, which helped physicians strengthen their practices and their finances. One of his businesses was named Top Business of the Year.

Today his work spans medicine and enterprise. He leads Regenerative Health & Wellness, a concierge medicine practice focused on whole-patient care, and Expert Medical Advisors & Consultants, which provides independent medical review and expert opinions. He founded Impero Capital Holdings, a private holding company focused on long-term ownership, and his ventures include Aerospace Research Center, which performs proton radiation-effects testing for electronics bound for space, and Millenia Financial Solutions.

Beyond medicine

He is an associate producer of the feature films Sacramento (2024) and The Astronaut (2025). His favorite book on negotiation is Getting to Yes, and its lessons — separate the people from the problem, focus on interests, know your alternatives — run through the way he approaches both medicine and business.
